Listen to Pandora Radio outside US on Android

Listen to Pandora worldwide

One of the most wanted mobile application is the Pandora Radio. It’s so fantastic that I’ve literally stopped turning on the radio in my car! The only bad part to it is that its a battery killer. This however doesn’t stop people from hanging on to Pandora radio – most of my friends either hook on to Pandora or Grooveshark while commuting to office. Even after reigning the US streaming Radio market, Pandora has limited its circumference and isn’t available worldwide! Sorry, it wasn’t available, until now!

Following is the procedure to run Pandora on Android from any place in the world:-

Your Android phone must be rooted for this to work.

Step 1: Download and Instal

  • Download Pandora on your Android device. Since you are outside the US, you might have to use market-enabler to get access to the American market place. Market-enabler fakes your phone’s location and helps you get access to android market places of other countries. You can learn more about market-enabler from this link.
  • Download Orbot. It keeps you hidden from service providers and you would not be blocked while trying to stream music from Pandora. Install Orbot and give it root permissions.
  • Reboot your device.

Step 2: Configuration

  • Go to your application settings and select Pandora to run though Orbot.
  • Check the transparent proxying checkbox.
  • Turn on Orbot
  • Click open Pandora.

Step 3: Account Creation

  • Create a Pandora account with a valid US zip (postal) code. Google to find lots of them.
  • Enjoy the music :)

Issues:-
Orbot works on Tor’s network. Due to innumerable Tor nodes worldwide, you might get unlucky sometimes when your end Tor node lands up to be in a country through which the access isn’t allowed. You would have to deactivate and reactivate Orbot a few times unless it starts working.

  1. What a waste of time this procedure is.

With Globalpandora.com it worked in 30 seconds and I did not have to root my phone and lose the warranty!

Is it possible to force Orbot to use a US node?
