The latest stable build of Android Froyo ported to HTC HD2 is shubCRAFT 1.5. As far as I’ve tested the device, everything seem to work really fine. The biggest surprise that comes for HD2 owners is that you can now select the OS you wish to boot into right from the a boot screen! There is no static or fizz sound while making calls, notification LEDs work and so does all your hard buttons. Google Navigation, Android Market place and all Apps that I downloaded and tested work absolutely fine. Performance wise, shu8i and ElBartoME have burnt the midnight oil to make things really really fast. 3G now gives you blazing speeds and the browser is pretty quick to respond. Because HD2 is massive in terms of hardware, you can assured that Live wallpapers run without a jerk and do not produce lag in the system. With earlier shubCRAFT builds, users had to switch to Windows Mobile now and then to connect to a computer to transfer files, which is no longer a need now.
The only con is that you cannot upgrade to shubCRAFT 1.5 if you’re running any shubCRAFT 1.x. The reason for this is that the entire files-ystem has been changed and updated and for this very reason you would have to take backup of your files and then transfer them back over to you new and fresh install of shubCRAFT 1.5
Follow the steps below to have shubCRAFT 1.5 up and running on your HTC HD2:-
Follow this at your own risk. HTC HD2 has not been natively available for Android, and it has been possible only die to contributions made by individual developers working on porting Froyo to HD2. You might loose the warranty when you install Froyo on HD2
Step 1: Device Unlock
- Download this HSPL zip file
- Connect your HTC HD2 to your PC and wait for active sync to pop-up
- Now unzip the zip file downloaded in step 1, and execute it. This will unlock your device.
- Keep your device connected to the PC through the remaining parts of the tutorial.
Step 2: Installation
- Before you proceed, make sure your phone has sufficient battery juice left.
- Download this ROM from here. You would have to register on that forum to download the file. After the download completes, execute the file.
- Download the RADIO from here, and then run the RADIO
- Download the dual cab file from here. Now copy over this dual cab file to your phone memory (not to your SD card)
- Download shubCRAFT 1.5 final version. This would be a zip file. Unzip the file.
- Copy the unzipped file to the root folder of your SD card.
Step 3: Setup
- Reboot the device.
- You would now see 2 options show up in the boot menu. Select Android and give it a few minutes while it boots for the first time
That’s it! Enjoy Android Froyo (shubCRAFT 1.5) on your HTC HD2.

Yay! I now have Windows Mobile 6.5 (with HTC Sense) and Android Froyo running on the same phone. Can't imagine technology would spike up so fast. LOL! I'm dual booting a phone
. Thanks!

I'm so glad I found my solution olnine.
reboot starts windows mobile again. no boot loader
hd2, are you sure you copied over shubCRAFT over to the root folder? Its the higher level in folder hierarchy that you can reach within your storage card.
