The Gadget Show spent a hefty $650 grand on building a Battlefield 3 simulator that lets a user experience the battlefield for real.
A unique FPS simulator that turns gaming into reality as you move, aim, fire and get shot within a 360-degree environment. This is what went into building the game:-
- Our very favorite Kinect, hacked to simulate your jumping and crouching movements
- An omni directional treadmill; lets to walk and run in a 4m x 9m arena.
- Paintballs shot at you so that you feel being shot in the game (this is going to be painful
)
- Infra-red motion sensing cameras
- Tonnes of moolah
