Rich Text Editor for iPhone, iPad

Notes app from Apple is superb – grocery list, addresses, things to do and what not. I possibly have over 100 notes on my iPhone right now. But that one thing missing from Notes application is the ability to write it down in rich text. Say you want to highlight something, an important must have item in your list, a critical date on an email or just a fancy list of multi-colored items. Not anymore – for those who don’t want to wait until iOS5.1 releases (wherein Apple is probably adding support for Rich Text editor to Notes and Email), you got to be on a jailbroken device :)

There are ups and downs about jailbreaking (more ups and fewer downsides as per me), but one has to agree that besides the painstaking jailbreak and unlock process one usually never regrets jailbreaking their iDevice. So here’s how you can have the wonderful app to enable rich text editor on your iOS device:-

  1. Open Cydia
  2. Make sure you have the BigBoss repo added
  3. Search for Rich Text for Mail

Now, the app doesn’t come cheap – it is a $4.99 app, but well worth for those who want to write fancy emails with italics, bold, colored text etc.
